CNN said the incident, 4.8km northeast of the town of Darrouzett, came just a day after a man died when another Texan natural gas pipeline exploded.

Eight people were wounded in Monday’s blast, 482km south-southeast of Darrouzett in Johnson County, which occurred after contractors carrying out construction work hit the line, causing a rupture and subsequent explosion, which sent huge flames hundreds of metres into the sky.

The cause of today’s blast near Darrouzett, which happened around 4pm local time, was not clear.

Several counties sent fire equipment to the site but firefighters were unable to get within a kilometre of the flames, KOCO-TV in Oklahoma City quoted Woodward County emergency manager Matt Lehenbauer as saying. indian pipeline disaster, pipeline accident spill -first
